Bob
Hickam plays guitar and sings tenor. He is the only current retiree in
the band, having previously paid his dues as as town dentist
in Idaho Springs, CO for 25 years. His fluid guitar style echoes multiple
influences, from the Everly Brothers to Tony Rice. Along with Credibility
Gap sound-man Gary Jorgenson, Bob hosts a weekly radio show on K-Goat featuring
folk and alternative country music, drawn in large part from his vast personal
collection. Bob has flirted with stardom ever since age 11, when he became
the youngest ham radio operator in the country. Also an Indiana native,
Bob has labored doing silk-screening, and making escalators and chemical
toilets, before deciding to charge people to insert his fingers in their
mouths. He enjoys hunting, skiing, collecting guitars, and following Indiana
University basketball.
